Bankruptcy

Every year, thousands of Canadians encounter financial challenges that they cannot resolve by themselves. These obstacles often lead to garnishments, collection calls and legal action, and as hard as you try, you can’t seem to pay it all off.

Many Canadians choose to file for bankruptcy to resolve their financial difficulty. The filing process is relatively straight-forward, and will immediately eliminate garnishments, collection calls, and other action undertaken by your creditors.

Steps to filing an assignment in bankruptcy:

  1. First, one of our federally-licensed trustees will meet with you to better understand your financial situation, and advise you of all of your debt relief options
  2. If you choose to file an assignment in bankruptcy, we will then prepare and file all necessary documentation and deliver a copy to all of your creditors in order to stop any garnishments, collection calls and legal action
  3. We will work with you throughout your bankruptcy to help ensure that all necessary documents are filed with us, and that all necessary counselling is received
  4. Upon completion of your bankruptcy, you will have no further responsibility to your creditors, with certain limited exceptions
